Biography
Dr Vishal Diwan recently joined UQ’s Centre for Chronic Disease as a Senior Research Assistant. Vishal’s research interests have focused on kidney diseases and related cardiovascular complications. He completed his pharmacy and pharmacology training in India and in 2009 received an Australian government IPRS grant as an international student to pursue his PhD. He completed his PhD in Pharmacology in 2013 from the University of Queensland under the supervision of A/Prof. Glenda Gobe and Prof. Lindsay Brown. He has completed post-doctoral work at the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Otago with A/Prof. Ivan Sammut and worked as a clinical pharmacy/pharmacology lecturer at the University of Otago’s School of Pharmacy. Vishal returned to Brisbane in 2016 to work for Queensland health before joining the Centre for Chronic Disease this year.
