Research
The Centre for Research Excellence in Chronic Kidney Disease is undertaking research across four key areas:
- Chronic Kidney Disease Surveillance: to improve the understanding of the demographics, rates, distribution and outcomes of people with chronic kidney disease.
- Biomarker Research: to increase understanding of biomarkers and renal genetics in chronic kidney disease.
- Practice Improvement: to improve health service utilisation and patient engagement, centering on renal supportive care, primary health care, nursing models of care, and chronic kidney disease self-management.
- Health Economics: focusing on informing on current and predicted future costs of chronic kidney disease health care and renal replacement therapy in Australia.
