Evan Owens is a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland where he is involved in clinical research with the Kidney Disease Research Group and the Chronic Kidney disease Centre of Research Excellence. Evan joined the Kidney Disease Research Group in 2015. He completed his honours thesis investigating inflammatory and fibrotic responses following PAR-2 and TGF-β receptor activation in human tubular epithelial cells, achieving first class honours. His current research focuses on the operation of a chronic kidney disease biobank and the development of a predictive clinical model for the identification and risk stratification of chronic kidney disease progression.
